#the Decade of Sixties – 1961 – 1970 #
———————————————————————

The song in this post is from the movie ‘Apna Khoon Apna Dushman-1969’.

I do not remember to have heard the title of this movie or its songs in the past. Of late, I have been coming across many movies from the sixties where I am not aware either of the movie or it’s’ songs or both.

“Apna Khoon Apna Dushman-1969” was directed by Kamran for ‘Rainbow Films, Bombay’.

It was a ‘social genre’ movie as mentioned in HFGK Vol-IV (1961-1970). This movie was passed by Censor Board on 07.10.1969.

The cast of this movie included Dara Singh, Sanjana, Kamran, Tiwari, Maruti, Meenakshi, Mumtaz Begam, Habib, Anjum, Dilip Dutt, Tun Tun, Fazal Khan, Khurshid Khan, and Shyam Kumar and others.

Dialogues for this movie were written by Farooque Qaisar who also wrote the lyrics for the songs of this movie.

Music for this movie was composed by Lala-Sattar.

This movie has four songs as per details given below.

SNo Song Title Singer/s Posted On
01 Tumhaari chaand si soorat pe hamko Asha Bhonsle, Mohd Rafi 19.11.2011
02 Na aaya hamen pyaar karnaa na aaya Asha Bhonsle
03 Dilrubaa na sataa aa bhi jaa Asha Bhonsle
04 Chhappan chhuri hai mera naam Asha Bhonsle, Usha Timothi

This movie ‘Apna Khoon Apna Dushman-1969’ had made its debut on the blog on 19.11.2011. So far, that song remains the only song from this movie to be covered on the blog.

Today, let us listen to the second song from this movie. This song is a female duet song sung by Asha Bhonsle and Usha Timothi.

From the video of this song available on internet it is clear that this song is the last song to appear in the movie before the climax of the movie. I have not watched this movie but it seems to be a regular movie with ‘good vs. evil’ theme where the ‘good’ prevails in the end and the evil is defeated.

In the picturisation of the song almost the whole cast of this movie can be seen present. I am unable to identify the actresses performing on this song.
I would request knowledgeable readers to help identify these actresses.

As mentioned above today’s song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Usha Timothi. Lyrics are by Farooque Qaisar and music is composed by Lala-Sattar.

Let us now enjoy the song …

“Khilaadi”(1968) was directed by Homi Wadia for Basant Pictures Bombay. This “social” movie had Nadia, Dilip Raj, Uma Bhende, Sujata, Sheikh, Suzie, Amarnath, Wazir Mohammad Khan, Vishwas Kunte, Uma Dutt, Dalpat, Habib etc in it.

The movie had five songs in it. Two songs have been covered in the past.

Here is the third song from “Khilaadi”(1968) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Farooque Kaiser is the lyricist. Music is composed by Lala Sattar.

The song is picturised as a seduction song on an actress who I think is Uma Bhende. I request our knowledgeable readers to help confirm/ refute my identification. The actress as well as the gentleman playing the centre of her attention appear ill suited for the roles they were entrusted to play in the song.

PS-Prakashchandra, our inhouse expert advises that the actress is Sujata seducing Dilip Raj.

maana teri mohabbat ka mujhko nasha ye jyaada hai
mujhko nasha ye jyaada hai
ho o ho ho ho
ab kya chhupaana dil ka fasaana
kar ke bahaana aa jaana

Song-Pyaar koi kam kam kare (Khilaadi)(1968) Singers-Asha Bhonsle, Rafi, Lyrics-Farooque Kaiser, MD-Lala Sattar

Lyrics

pyaar koi kam kam kare
haaye alla
dheer dhare ji zara dheer dhare
kaahe gori chham chham kare
haaye alla
bijli gire ji dil pe bijli gire

pyaar koi kam kam kare
kaahe gori chham chham kare

hove ruswa na meri jawaani
mujhpe itni karo meharbaani
dil hai haazir abhi pyaar kar lo
phir na aayegi rut ye suhaani

duhaai duhaai mere saajna
koi kya karega tera saamna
haaye pyaar koi kam kam kare
haaye allah
dheer dhare ji zara dheer dhare
kaahe gori chham chham kare
haaye alla
bijli gire ji dil pe bijli gire

pyaar koi kam kam kare
kaahe gori chham chham kare

tu jo chaahe to kismat bana loon
dil ki dhadkan mein tujhko chhupa loon

aisi nazron se dekho na balma
hosh apne main kaise sambhaaloon
nasha hai sanam ye mere pyaar ka
bharosa nahin hai tere pyaar ka
haaye kaahe gori chham chham kare
haaye allah
bijli gire ji dil pe bijli gire

pyaar koi kam kam kare
haaye alla
dheer dhare ji zara dheer dhare
kaahe gori chham chham kare
pyaar koi kam kam kare ae ae

“Saat Sawaal”(1971) was produced by Homi Wadia and directed by Babubhai Mistry for Basant Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Heena Kumari, Nawal Kumar, Sujata, Anita, Rupali, Manhar Desai, Shyam Kumar, Yash Raj, Jayshree T., Johnny Walker, Wasti etc in it.

The movie which was basically the tale of Hatim Tai (Saat Sawaal yaane Hatim Tai was the alternative title) had Nawal Kumar in the title role opposite Heena Kumari.

The movie had six songs in it. Here is the first song from “Saat Sawaal”(1971) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. Lala Sattar composed the music. The movie had two lyricist but the breakup of songs between them is not known.

The song is picturised as an expression of love song on Nawal Kumar and Heena Kumari (I guess).

With this song, “Saat Sawaal”(1971) makes its debut in the blog.

When I started collecting cassettes in 1985, I was very crazy about purchasing of cassettes at regular intervals; I was always searching for songs of old films (especially of Rajesh Khanna films at that time).

It was my practice, beginning from 8th standard onwards that I would take up some part time job during my vacations which I would give up as classes would resume. I had taken up a part time job during the vacation period after class 12th as well, but unlike the previous years, I did not go back to my classes this time, rather I continued with this job since I was aware that I was going to fail in my exams.
