This is my 1400th post on this Blog. For me, it is like a big dream. I feel I will wake up and find that this figure was only a dream figure ! But looks like it is all real.
While I am glad for this new Milestone, it is still a mystery how it has happened. When I retired from my service in 1998 and later from all professional activities in 2010, I was thinking what to do now. Then one day I remembered about my old notebooks in which I had written about the old films which I saw in my younger days and I opened those Pandora’s boxes. A new world opened before me. I bought a Laptop and learnt how to operate it from my grandchildren, who seemed to be born with that knowledge ! I was 71 years old then.

Today’s song is from the film Mera Munna-1948. This film was made by Minerva Movietone. However, it was not directed by Sohrab Modi, but by an outsider- Vishram Bedekar.

“Mera Munna”(1948) was directed by Vishram Bedekar for Minerva Movieone, Bombay. The movie had Motilal, Nayantara, E Tarapore, Leela Mishra, Seeta Bose, Wazir Mohammad Khan, Anita Sharma, Sadat Ali, Ramesh Sahgal, Hafeeza etc in it.

Such discoveries do not happen often. Finding unknown songs that one is not aware of. Today is one such occasion, and this Mukesh song is one such song. And the credit for searching it out and sending it to me, goes to Mahesh ji Mamadapur. A simple email from him yesterday – saying that he has found a song online that he cannot locate on the blog. Since we have definitely covered and accounted for, all songs of Mukesh till the mid 1950s, how come this song from the 1948 film ‘Mera Munna’ does not appear on our blog? I scrambled to check, and I found the following.

“Mera Munna” (1967) was a Ranglok Films production. This movie was directed bhy Madhusudan. The movie had Rehman, Nutan, Kanhaiyyalal, Raj Mehra, Manorama, Jagirdar, Sudhir Kumar, Asit Sen, Master Moppet Suraj, Manju, Babloo etc in it.
