It looks as if, N Datta formed a successful team with Sahir Ludhianvi as most of his popular songs are with Sahir in the period 1957-1959. He has composed a sizeable 349 songs in 54 films, out of which 221 are already in the blog.

Today (14th february), otherwise known as Valentine’s day, is also the birthday of Jaan Nisaar Akhtar. Jaan Nisaar Akhtar’s name suggests that he may be a shayar who mostly wrote songs on the themes of husn o ishq.
Jaan Nisaar Akhtar could in fact write light hearted songs as well. Here is a fun timepass song from “Rickshawaala” (1960). This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Geeta Dutt. N Datta is the music director.
