Rafi-Shammi Kapoor songs are some of the most loved songs in Bollywood movies. Sometime ago, I had wondered what I was going to do if I run out of these Rafi-Shammi Kapoor songs to post. Well, I have posted over 2500 songs in this blog, and I find that I still have many Rafi-Shammi Kapoor songs not yet posted. So I still have lots of ground to cover.

Bollywood movies tended to have songs where the hero teases the heroine and gets away with it. Picturisation of majority of such songs left much to be desired as far as I am concerned.

I am fond of saying that Bollywood movies have one great “Chitthi” (letter) song every decade, beginning from 1960s. Thus we had Likhe jo khat tujhe(Kanyadaan)(1968) in 1960s, Daakiya daak laaya(Palkon ki chhaon mein)(1977) (Palkon Ki Chhaaon Mein” in 1970s, “Chitthi aayi hai aayi hai” (Naam) in 1980s and Sandese aate hain(Border)(1997) (Border) in 1990s. All these songs are already posted in this blog.

As a result, many sngs that I intended to post in the past remain unposted. This in fact has been the case with many farmaishes that I have received in the past.

I have posted over 2400 songs in this blog already. I just realised that the iconic song “Mera Joota Hai Japani” is not yet posted. I will not call an oversight. In fact, it is a tribute to the quality and quantity of awesome songs that one can post so many songs and still many more great songs would still be left undiscussed.
