I just realised that I had posted very few songs from “Shri 420″(1955) in this blog. To make amends, I posted one song yesterday. Here is another song from this movie.
This song, for a change is sung by Asha Bhonsle and it is picturised on Nadira. It is a party song and Nadira is seen singing and dancing at a part attended by others, including Nargis and Raj Kapoor. I know Nadira as a stern faced woman, fit to play a vamp, and to my mind, Nadira singing and dancing appears just as convincing as Satyen Kappu playing a police inspector ! But then such miscasting does happen in Bollywood from time to time.
The song is written by Shailendra and music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

The picturisation of this dance song was far ahead of its time. By the way the person standing behind a sitting lady at 5:07 to 5:18 is Jaikishan of Shankar-Jaikishan, the MD of this film.
