I have discussed as many as seven songs from “Shamaa” (1961) and what fabulous songs they are. There are more lovely songs in this movie, but they are apparently not available on youtube. So I had to do dig deeper in order to come up with the missing songs from this movie.

I thought that I had already discussed this song from “Shamaa” (1961) but it turns out that I was wrong. I was confusing this song with another song from this movie.

“Shamaa” (1961) is a movie starring Vijay Dutt (?), Suraiyya, Nimmi, Kammo, Leela Mishra, Tuntun etc. To me, this movie is notable more for its songs. I have discussed as many as five songs from this movie so far.

I am aware of a movie called “Shamaa”(1961) that had music by Ghulam Mohammad. Now it turns out that there is another movie by the same name that was released in 1946 and it had music by Ghulam Haider. I other words, both these movies with similar names have music by similarly named music directors as well.

“Shama”(1961), a forgotten movie by now had Suraiyya,Nimmi,Vijay Dutt (who ?) etc in it.

I have posted a few songs from “Shamaa” (1961) in the past. This movie was the second last movie for Suraiyya and she sang some memorable songs in this movie, as well as in her last movie (“Rustam Sohrab”).

I was under the impression that Suraiyya’s singing-acting career was over in 1950s, but she also had a few movies released in 1960s. It is another matter that her best days were behind her by that time.
