Today’s song is the third song from this movie to be presented on the blog. It is sung by Sudha Malhotra. Lyrics are by Sartaj Rehmani and music is composed by Ramnath.
I am unable to identify the actresses shown in the video of this song available on the internet (I sincerely hope that this video is authentic and from this movie only).
Today’s song is a nice song which the lady seems to be singing for her ‘sakhi-saheli’ , where I guess, the marriage of her ‘sakhi-saheli’ with her beloved seems to be on the card 🙂
Let us now listen to the song …

“Chaar Paise”(1955) was produced and directed by N K Ziri for National Movies, Bombay. The movie had Kishore Kumar, Shyama, Johnny Walker, Agha, Kammo, Nishi, Nazir Kashmiri etc in it.
The movie had six songs in it. Four songs from the movie have been covered in the past.
It is interesting to note (as recounted by Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our beloved inhouse encyclopaedia) that this movie was never released. Still, its prints are available and have been uploaded online. So we can see the picturisation of the songs of the movie.
Here is the fifth song from “Chaar Paise”(1955) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Sartaj Rahmani is the lyricist. Music is composed by B D Burman.
The song is picturised as a club dance song on Sheila VazKammo. Those present in the club include Kishore Kumar and Shyama, among others.
This song can be described as one of the earlier “club” dance songs in Hindi movies.

Song-Dil hai nishaana nainon ke teer ka (Chaar Paise)(1955) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics- Sartaj Rahmani, MD-B D Burman
Lyrics
dil hai nishaana
nainon ke teer ka
waar bachaana ji
nainon ke teer ka
thokar na khaana baabu ji
o bhole bhaale
dil ko bachaana baabu ji
o dil waale
dil hai nishaana
nainon ke teer ka
waar bachaana ji
nainon ke teer ka
dil ki lagi ka sun afsaana
shamma ki lau par hai parwaana
chhed nazar se koi taraana
pyaar mein de de dil nazraana
mausam suhaana baabu ji
o bhole bhaale
rangeen zamaan baabu ji
o dil waale
dil hai nishaana
nainon ke teer ka
waar bachaana ji
nainon ke teer ka
pyaar bhara dil
aur ye jawaani
ek hai raaja
ek hai raani
donon ki hai ek kahaani
ye bhi deewaana
vo bhi deewaani
hosh mein aana baabu ji
o bhole bhaale
phir na pachhtaana baabu ji
o dil waale
dil hai nishaana
nainon ke teer ka
waar bachaana ji
nainon ke teer ka
nayi bahaaren
naye nazaare
kitne haseen hain
kitne pyaare
tod na dena dil ke sahaare
hum hai tumhaare
tum ho humaare
dil hai deewaana baabu ji
o bhole bhaale
isko samjhaana baabu ji
o dil waale
dil hai nishaana
nainon ke teer ka
waar bachaana ji
nainon ke teer ka
thokar na khaana baabu ji
o bhole bhaale
dil ko bachaana baabu ji
o dil waale
dil hai nishaana
nainon ke teer ka
waar bachaana ji
nainon ke teer ka
Jis roz se hamne tera deedaar kiya

Here is a song from film Sindbad the sailor-52.
The name of Sindbad will remind you the storybooks we have read in our childhood. Sindbad, Allauddin, Alibaba, Birbal-Akbar, Haatimtai, Gulebakavali, Vetal Pachhisi and many such books have entertained the growing children for many generations in the past. I do not know what today’s generation young children read. But then, do they read at all ? I guess these children see the stories on TV-not the ones I have mentioned here. Their Heroes are different.

Well one of these days, we may come to the bottom of this ocean of melody. Well yes, after all, the music that was created in the first four decades – has been created, and it is not possible to add to it anymore. And so one day we would have discovered all that is there to discover, and would have discussed it here on this blog. But as of now, there is still so much out there in front of us that thankfully, it is still going to be many years before this treasure gets exhausted. And I am sure there is enough for a lifetime. 🙂

There is something special about Johnny Walker lip synching Rafi. One is that Rafi Sb of course sings with the true sound of fun and jest, as required by the situation. Along with that, Johnny Walker’s antics, the twitch of his smile and the twinkle in his eyes are more than enough to convince you that he too is thoroughly enjoying himself as he is performing. Take any song of these two together and one can feel the heightened quantum of fun and entertainment.

on:When I began to follow movies in my younger days then at that time Rajesh Khanna was everyone’s favourite actor. Actors of the previous generation, viz Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand were considered as passe, especially by someone like me. I regarded Dev Anand as an old man trying to act as a youngster in his movies instead of acting in roles befitting his age.
