Gore nahin hum kaale sahi

In Bollywood masala songs, there is this typical situation where the hero must enter the high security den of the villain. The hero makes it to the den in disguise and the villains are unable to identify, despite his disguise often being nothing more than a thin moustache.
I was wondering how to classify such songs. Now I have christened such songs as “disguise song”. This particular “disguise song” from “Desh Premee” sees both hero and heroine entering the villain’s den in disguise as the lead dancers of the dancing troupe in the den. Just how exactly the lead actors convinced the dancing troupe to let them beome the lead dancers is a secret that Bollywood movie makers have not yet made public to this date.
In this song, the disguise consisted of painting the body black and make the hairs curly and thus pose as being blacks. I would have thought that they should not have sung a Hindi song in that case. They should have sung a Carribbean song to make it look more authentic. The hero takes so much care in being disguised. He does not even sing in the voice of Kishore Kumar. His playback voice is also disguised. He sings in the voice of Laxmikant.
But in all this attention to detail, it is not explained how another Amitabh Bachchan ( father of the disguised Amitabh Bachchan) makes it to the party undetected. Not only the goons of the villain, even the disguised Amitabh fails to notice the resemblance.
All these inconsistencies make this a fun song. In fact, all songs of this movie are fun to listen to. Just listen to this song, and enjoy.

I liked this movie a lot. In those days, popularity of a movie was judged by its repeat audience. If people watched a movie multiple times, then that movie was regarded as super hit. I recall news items mentioning people who watched “Sholay”, “Muqaddar ka Sikanrar” etc multiple times. Personally I watched this movie more times ( 5 times) than most other movies. That is how much I liked this movie.
