Main tere ishq mein mar naa jaaun kahin

“Loafer” saw Mumtaz teaming up with Dharmendra. This movie was full of very popular songs. Laxmikant Pyarelal’s music and Anand Bakshi’s lyrics created songs which were quite a rage in those days.
Here is a lata solo. It is picturised on Mumtaz who is thinking about Dharmendra. So naturally Dharmendra also figures in this song. And as happened in songs sung by one person but picturised on two, Dharmendra acts quite cold towards Mumtaz in this song. I wonder why ? Perhaps he was sulking because he does not get to sing in this song.Come on Dharam ji, be more considerate. There are many people who would dearly love to be in in your shoes if only they got a chance.

Song- Main tere ishq mein mar naa jaaun kahin (Loafer) (1973) Singer-Lata, Lyrics- Anand Bakshi, MD- Laxmikant Pyarelal
Lyrics
main tere ishq mein mar na jaaun kahin
tu mujhe aazmaane ki koshish na kar
main tere ishq mein mar na jaaun kahin
tu mujhe aazmaane ki koshish na kar
khoobsoorat hai tu to hoon main bhi haseen
mujhse nazren churaane ki koshish na kar
main tere ishq mein
shauq se tu meraa imthaan le
shauq se tu meraa imthaan le
tere kadmon pe rakh di hai jaan le
bekadar bekhabar maan jaa zid naa kar
tod kar dil meraa ai mere hamnasheen
is tarah muskuraane ki koshish naa kar
khoobsuurat hai tu to hoon main bhi haseen
mujhse nazren churaane ki koshish na kar
main tere ishq mein
kab se baithi hoon main intazaar mein
kab se baithi hoon main intazaar mein
jhoothaa waadaa hi kar koyi pyaar mein
kyaa sitam hai sanam tere sar ki qasam
yaad chaahe naa kar tu mujhe gham nahin
haan magar bhool jaane ki koshish naa kar
main tere ishq me mar na jaaun kahin
tu mujhe aazamaane ki koshish na kar
main tere ishq mein

An ever green song of LOAFAR Dhrmendra and Mumtaz.Dharmaendra has really acted as an angry young man in this song.Had he not been agry in this song,it would not please the lovers. It looks natural this way.It is an unforgetable hit of 1973.I repeatedly warch.a gift for the lovers

This was one of the first “older” films I saw when I was getting started on my obsession…I loved it enormously. And I love the songs as much.
