This song from “Professor” is shot on outdoor locations, perhaps in Kashmir (Correction- in Darjeeling, as pointed out by Shontou). The song is sung by Rafi and is picturised on Shammi Kapoor. The rolypoly heroine, Kalpana is also there in this song and she appears rather sore at Shammi Kapoor throughout the song. It seems to me that Shammi kapoor’s charms seem to have cut no ice with her in this song.
Hasrat Jaipuri’s lyrics, Shankar Jaikishan’s music as well as Rafi’s voice have ensured that this song became an evergreen song, that is loved even today after the passage of 46 years or so. And methinks that singing this song may still desired results even today when tried on ladies more receptive than Kalpana. I do not think there are too many songs better than this when it comes to wooing one’s lady love.

Lovely song.
At various times in my life I have had a “favourite” song.
Well, actually many favourites 🙂 but one song that I have been singing continuously – till another song finally would displace it. (A bit like my own one-song geetmala).
Well this song ruled the roost for a while – till it was replaced by “jaaneja dhoondhta phir raha”.

All the songs from this movie are immortal.
Just one correction,the song is shot in Darjeeling and not Kashmir.
