Parbat ke peechhe chambe da gaaon

Whenever a song talks of hills and mountains, I can imagine echoes coming back from the distant peaks of the mountain range.
And the songs picturised on mountains are often great songs, aurally as well as visually.
Now here is this song that I have listened to for three decades, and enjoyed it, without knowing much about its picturisation. The Lata-Kishore-R D Burman combination, like they have done many a times in the past, have come up with a very beautiful composition, whose words were created so carefully by Anand Bakshi.
Now that I have wathed the picturisation of this “Mehbooba” song which shows Rajesh Khanna and Hema Malini, I now like this song even more. From what I can make out, it appears to me that the two meet and decide to get married ( what in 1970s were called by fans as “Bhagwan Saakshi” marriages- where the God in the temple used to be the only witness) and this is a song to celebrate that occasion.

This song is a nice in a different way :). I also like saying Chambe Da Gaaon 🙂
