Ek do teen chaar

I knew that Johny Walker has sung in the voice of Rafi. But I was not aware that he had sung a song in the voice of Kishore Kumar too. Now I know.
Frankly, I was not aware that there was a movie called “Sanjog” with Amitabh Bachchan in it. And in this movie, there are others like Mala Sinha, Aruna Irani etc as well.
The song sung by Kishore Kumar is one where ladies are playing musical chairs. In Bollywood, there is a song for every occasion, so it stands to reason that there should be a song for playing musical chairs too. So that lacuna gets filled by this song.
In fact, I could not fit this song among my 100 odd tags, so I have created a new tag viz “party game” song to accommodate this song. The song is sung by the most popular combination of Bolywood music world of those days, viz Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyricist-Anand Bakshi and MD-R D Burman.
But there were so many great songs going around those days that songs often depended on the success/ failure of the movie at the box office to move ahead. And this movie was indeed a flop. And so this song got forgotten. In fact, I do not recall having heard this song before. But Raja , the farmaish giver of this song, had certainly done so. And now, I do too, even if I am just about 37 years too late. Better late than never. And I loved this song from the very first time I heard it. And even its picturisation is quite Ok.
Song-Ek do teen chaar (Sanjog) (1971) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-R D Burman
Lyrics
he ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho
Ek do teen chaar paanch che aur saat
arre Ek do teen chaar paanch che aur saat
saath saathi khel khelen chooth na jaaye saath
arre saath saathi khel khelen chooth na jaaye saath
arre Ek do teen chaar paanch che aur saat
saath saathi khel khelen chooth na jaaye saath
gayi gayi o gayi gayi gayi
neeli jiski saadi
nikli badi anaadi
rah gaye che khilaadi
gayi o gayi o gayi gayi gayi
neeli jiski saadi
nikli badi anaadi
rah gaye che khilaadi
ek haare ek jeete sharam ki kya hai baat
arre ek haare ek jeete sharam ki kya hai baat
che saathi khel khelen
chooth na jaaye saath
he
gayi o gayi o gayi gayi gayi
teekhi jiski ankhiyan
meethi jiski batiyaan
rah gayin paanch hi sakhiyaan
gayi o gayi o gayi gayi gayi
teekhi jiski ankhiyan
meethi jiski batiyaan
rah gayin paanch hi sakhiyaan
ek haare ek jeete sharam ki kya hai baat
arre ek haare ek jeete sharam ki kya hai baat
paanch saathi khel khelen
chooth na jaaye saath
gayi o gayi o gayi gayi gayi
naam hai jiska Rakhi
jisne ki chaalaaki
rah gayi teen hi baaki
gayi o gayi o gayi gayi gayi
naam hai jiska Rakhi
jisne ki chaalaaki
rah gayi teen hi baaki
ek haare ek jeete sharam ki kya hai baat
arre ek haare ek jeete sharam ki kya hai baat
teen saathi khel khelen
chooth na jaaye saath
lalalala lala
lalallala lalalla
