Dhadka to hoga dil zaroor
Posted by: Atul on: May 17, 2009
For long, I thought that “C I D” and “CID 909” were one and the same movie. Now I realise that these two movies are different movies. CID was a movie of 1957 and CID 909 was released in 1967. CID had Dev Anand in lead role and CID 909 had Feroz Khan in lead role.
Coincidentally, O P Nayyar was the music director in both the movies. And I must say, O P Nayyar gave lilting and foot tapping music in both these movies.
Majrooh Sultanpuri was the lyricist in CID whereas S H Bihari wrote the songs of CID 909.
Here is a nice dance song from “CID 909”.This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle, Kamal Barot and Mahendra Kapoor. I can identify Mumtaz and Feroz Khan, but who is the other lady dancing with Mumtaz ? I have read somewhere, including in youtube that she is Helen, but somehow does not look like Helen to me. Can someone tell me who she is ?
The song, as I mentioned earlier, is quite a foot tapping one, and the picturisation is nice too. It is certainly one of those great dance songs picturised on two female dancers which used to be standard fare in many Bollywood movies of those days.

song-Dhadka to hoga dil zaroor (CID 909) (1967) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Kamal Barot, Mahendra Kapoor, Lyrics-S H Bihari, MD-O P Nayyar
Lyrics
dhadka to hoga dil zaroor
kiya jo hoga tumne pyaar
ham se chupaao na huzoor
ham hain tumhaare taabedaar
jaani taabedaar
dhadka to hoga dil zaroor
kiya jo hoga tumne pyaar
ham se chupaaon na huzoor
ham hain tumhaare taabedaar
jaani taabedaar
dhadka to hoga dil zaroor
kiya jo hoga tumne pyaar
aankhon me tumhaare
chaahat ki tasweer liye
aaye hain
aaye hain tumhaare kadmon me taqdeer liye
kismat ne kabhi mauqa jo diya
dikhlaayenge ham dil cheez hai kyaa
ye jaan bhi tumpar denge lutaa
dhadka to hoga dil zaroor
kiya jo hoga tumne pyaar
ham se chupaaon na huzoor
ham hain tumhaare taabedaar
jaani taabedaar
dhadka to hoga dil zaroor
kiya jo hoga tumne pyaar
ye pyaar hamen laaya hai kahaan
maaloom nahin
kahte hain
kahte hain kise aankhon ki jabaan
maloom nahin
qaatil hai adaa dushman hai nazar
ab bachke koi jaaye bhi kidhar
marne do yahin marnaa hain agar
dhadka to hoga dil zaroor
kiya jo hoga tumne pyaar
ham se chhupaaon na huzoor
ham hain tumhaare taabedaar
jaani taabedaar
dhadka to hoga dil zaroor
kiya to hoga tumne pyaar
Is dil se koi ikraar to kar ae jaane wafaa
thoda hi sahi
thoda hi sahi par pyaar to kar ae jaane wafaa
kismat ne kabhi mauqa jo diya
dikhlaayenge ham dil cheez hai kyaa
ye jaan bhi tum par denge lutaa
dhadka to hoga dil zaroor
kiya jo hoga tumne pyaar
ham se chupaaon na huzoor
ham hain tumhaare taabedaar
jaani taabedaar
dhadka to hoga dil zaroor
kiya jo hoga tumne pyaar

Another dancer must be MEENAXI, based on pure guess work 🙂

I think another dancer alongwith Mumtaz is Meenaxi aka Meenakshi who featured in the song/dance sequences of Devar(1966) and Mere laal

No, I don’t recognize her, but it’s not Helen for sure…

Bela Bose feature in another song from this movie C.I.D.909 (“Nadi ka Kinara ho” song)
But “Dhadka to hoga zaroor” song features Mumtaz and MEENAXI(another dancer is not Bela Bose, she is MEENAXI)
