Ye neer kahaan se barse hain

Whenever someone talks of ‘Prem Parbat”, I am reminded of the song “Ye dil aur unki nigaahon ke saaye”. In fact, this movie and this song are almost synonymous for many people, including me.
Just now, I have listened to another song from this movie. Like the above mentioned song, this song too is sung by Lata. The song “ye neer kahaan se barse hain” is written by Padma Sachdev, who must be one of very few female lyricists in Bollywood. In fact, if I am not mistaken, she was a poet, and this could well have been a poetry. The lyrics certainly appear like poetry.
Jaidev,an erstwhile assistant to S D Burman, composed the music of this movie. Like many people, I too wonder why opportunities to Jaidev as a music director were so few and far between.
This may be a nice song, but this song certainly deserves to be better known among music lovers. I hope people will listen to this song and savour it.

I am a 64 yr old man I have been listening to these old songs right from radio days and DD days from 1982. Fantastic compositions aii the numbers from prem parvat. Really nostalgic and deserves sharing with any of my genre.
