Enjoying songs without knowing any details of the song and then forgetting all about that song means that when you recall the song, you have no means to locate that song. You feel helpless. You know about the song, but you do not have enough clues to help you.
And they one fine day, you come across the same song, that you last heard three decades ago. This time, I managed to find details about the song that were just not known to me at that time.
As far as elusive and forgotten songs go, this song is just as elusive and forgotten as they come. And interstingly, the lyrics of the song “aapki inaayaten, apke karam” had stayed at the back of my mind throughout these three decades.
The reason why this song was forgotten is not far to seek. This song is from a movie called “Vandana” which does not ring a bell. And this movie has Parikshit Sahni as hero. Sadhana, the screen diva of 1960s was also there, but this movie was released in 1975, and by that time Sahdhana had become a non entity as far as the next generation of movie goers were concerned.
Coming to the song itself, this song is such a nice song to listen to. It is sung by Lata and picturised nicely as a piano song on Sadhana and Parikshit Sahni. Sadhana looke stunning in this picturisation.
The song was written by Asad Bhopali and the music was composed by Ravi.
This song is very difficult to find. That makes it a rare gem.
