It is generally felt that longevity of a song is assured only if the song is serious in nature.
No doubt most immortal songs are serious in nature, but even light hearted and not so serious songs can become popular and remain so with passage of time.
This movie “Chori Mera Kaam”(1975) has no pretentions of being anything other than a chaalu movie. Its title itself says so, in case one misses it.
The songs of this movie were timepass in nanture too. And they became popular.
I find that these songs are nice to listen to even today. Even younger music lovers who listen to the songs of tjis movie for the first time now, he could well find these songs hummable.

Now a song that is the title song of a movie called “Chori Mera Kaam” should not be expected to be very popular, but then one has to bear it in mind that this song has been sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle, who could often transform a seemingly run of the mill song into a memorable song. This song was picturised on Shashi Kapoor and Zeenat Aman, who, unsurprisingly play “chor” (thieves) in this movie.
