Hamen chhod piyaa kis des gaye

I have posted a few songs from “Do Bhai” (1947) in this blog. It is in this movie that Geeta Roy (later Geeta Dutt) made her debut as a playback singer. It is in this movie that she sang the well known “mera sundar sapna beet gayaa”.
Of course other songs sung by her in this movie were just as nice as I have noted, even though they may not be that well known. This song is one such song.
The song is written by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan and S D Burman is the music director. The song is picturised on Kamini Kaushal. I hope I have identified the actress correctly, but do not count on that. I am renowned for my ability to identify actresses incorrectly. 😉

Is it really Kamini Kaushal ? I cannot believe it that I identified her correctly. Yes, I will try to help you in your project of identifying obscure actors.

And i read that you are trying to concentrate on old songs .. do you have this song sung by Saigal (probably):

This song is sung by Mukesh (in Saigal style). I was under the impression that I had posted this song. It is only now that I realise that I have not posted this song. I will post it soon.
