Do dil dhadak rahe hain aur aawaaz ek hai

In the past, I had posted a song from a movie called “Insaaf” (1966) in this blog. Now I have come to know that there was another movie by the same name that was released 10 years earlier. This movie viz “Insaaf” (1956) had Ajit and Nalini Jaiwant in lead roles.
Here is a song from this movie. The farmaish for this song is given by Lalitha, and as happens with me many a times, I came to know about this song only because of her farmaish.
This song is sung by Talat Mehmood and Asha Bhonsle.Asad Bhopali is the lyricist and music is composed by Chitragupta. It is a lovely song to listen to. Listening to Talat Mehmood’s voice always has a soothing effect. In fact I call this effect “mental massage”. This song is very much a mental massage song. Listening to this song has a calming effect on the listener.
Song-Do dil dhadak rahe hain aur aawaaz ek hai (Insaaf) (1956) Singers-Talat Mehmood, Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Asad Bhopali, MD-Chitragupta
Lyrics
aa aa hmm hmm
aa aa aa aa
do dil dhadak rahe hain aur aawaaz ek hai
do dil dhadak rahe hain aur aawaaz ek hai
naghme judaa-judaa hain magar saaz ek hai
do dil dhadak rahe hain aur aawaaz ek hai
rangeen har adaa hai, bechain har nazar hai
rangeen har adaa hai, bechain har nazar hai
ik dard saa idhar hai, ik dard saa udhar hai
donon ki beqaraari kaa andaaz ek hai
donon ki beqaraari kaa andaaz ek hai
naghme judaa-judaa hain magar saaz ek hai
do dil dhadak rahe hain aur aawaaz ek hai
tadpaayiye na hamko, sharmaayiye na hamse
tadpaayiye na hamko, sharmaayiye na hamse
donon ki zindagi hai ek doosre ke dam se
ham do kahaaniyaan hain magar raaz ek hai
ham do kahaaniyaan hain magar raaz ek hai
naghme judaa-judaa hain magar saaz ek hai
do dil dhadak rahe hain aur aawaaz ek hai
aaa aaa

Thanks for playing yet another favorite song of mine, Atul! I am noticing a pattern with regard to my farmaishes – they all seem to be from the 50’s and the 60’s – after which I went to college, then got married, and had no time to listen to songs, and it is only now when the children are out of the house that I am getting back to my songs again. Thanks for reviving all those old melodies which are so soothing to listen to, especially late at night.
