Uff ye jawaani ye adaa

I had never heard of this movie called “Mehmaan” (1974) and I am sure most normal fans too may not have heard of this movie.
I do not recall hearing this song either. I stumbled upon this song sometime back. I find the picturisation funny though the makers intended it to be romantic. The picturisation shows an over the hill Vishwajeet teasing a very young and almost unreconisable Rekha. And Rekha is shown enjoying the advances of the hero who is senior to her in age by two decades.
Vishwajeet in fact is dressed Jeetendra istyle and is made to dance like Jeetendra and Shammi Kappor combined, with disastrous results.
The song itself is good. Rafi sings this song. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist and he comes up with such profound words as “haay ice cream” in this song. 🙂
Ravi is the music director.

Ha ha…combination of Jeetu and Shammi ? Hmm…I did not see any Shammi in this, but yes totally Jeetu. The dancing was too synchronised, as if trained by a dancemaster. And Shammi’s dancing was always of his own.
Have never heard this song before. Or even the movie. So I guess I am one of the “normal” persons, then. 😉

jumping jack of joy has the famous duckstyle hairstyle of t he 50′ but nice shirt and pants, though.

Mohd Rafi could sing give all the jhatkas in his rendition such a dignity, which the actors make look so vulagr!
