Ek samay par do barsaaten

In Bollywood movies, most songs are lip synced on screen by actors. But there are some songs that are played on the background and the actors on the screen are not required to lip sync these songs. I have posted quite a few songs of this nature. All these days, I failed to realise that I should categorise these songs as background songs.
Well better late than never. Now I have created this category.
Here is a lovely background song from “Jhoolaa” (1962). This song in fact is a rain song as well in the sense that it is picturised in rain. But it is not a romantic rain song picturised on Hero and Heroine. One can see Sunil Dutt, Vyjyanti Mala and Sulochana Latkar in the picturisation, but it is a serious song, not a romantic song. The lyrics of the song go “ek samay par do barsaatein, baadal ke sang aankh bhi barse” (two rains are taking place simultanoeusly, along with clouds, eyes too are shedding water).
The lyrics by Rajinder Krishan are indeed the highlight of this song. Manna Dey has sung this song and music is composed by Salil Chaudhary. This is a forgotten gem from a forgotten movie. I thank Lalitha for her farmaish of this song.

song-Ek samay par do barsaatein (Jhoola) (1962) Singer-Manna Dey, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-Salil Chaudhary
Lyrics
ek samay par do barsaaten
ek samay par do barsaaten
baadal ke sang aankh bhi barse
chaaron oar hai jal-thal jal-thal
chaaron oar hai jal-thal jal-thal
phir bhi pyaasaa manwaa tarse
ek samay par do barsaaten
umad-ghumad jab chhaayin ghataayen
neer barsegaa sabne jaanaa
umad-ghumad jab chhaayin ghataayen
neer barsegaa sabne jaanaa
koi na jaane dil mein toofaan
kab aa jaaye aur kidhar se
ek samay par do barsaaten
aag lagi hai dil mein lekin
dekh rahaa hai aankh kaa paani
aag lagi hai dil mein lekin
dekh rahaa hai aankh kaa paani
sholon ke sang bahti nadiyaa
nikal rahi hai ek hi ghar se
ek samay par do barsaaten
baadal ke sang aankh bhi barse
chaaron oar hai jal-thal jal-thal
phir bhi pyaasaa manwaa tarse
ek samay par do barsaaten
