Raaton ke saaye ghane
Posted on: July 14, 2010
I have posted a few songs from “Annadaata” (1972) . I have been informed by my readers that a few more songs from this movie are not yet been posted.
Here is another song from this movie. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Jaya Bhaduri and Om Prakash. It is a poignant song written by Yogesh. Salil Chaudhary is the music director.
This is a lovely song which is picturised equally well. The song is a gem in a movie full of gems.

Song-Raaton ke saaye ghane (Annadaata) (1972) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Yogesh, MD-Salil Chaudhary
Lyrics
raaton ke saaye ghane
jab bojh dil par bane
na to jale baati
na ho koyi saathi
na to jale baati
na ho koyi saathi
phir bhi na dar agar bujhen diye
sahar to hai tere liye
raaton ke saaye ghane
jab bojh dil par bane
na to jale baati
na ho koyi saathi
na to jale baati
na ho koyi saathi
phir bhi na dar agar bujhen diye
sahar to hai tere liye
jab bhi mujhe kabhi koyi jo gham ghere
lagtaa hai honge nahin sapne ye poore mere
jab bhi mujhe kabhi koyi jo gham ghere
lagtaa hai honge nahin sapne ye poore mere
kahtaa hai dil mujhko maanaa hain gham tujhako
phir bhi na dar agar bujhen diye
sahar to hai tere liye
jab na chaman khile meraa bahaaron mein
jab doobne main lagoon raaton ke majhdhaaron mein
jab na chaman khile meraa bahaaron mein
jab doobne main lagoon raaton ke majhdhaaron mein
maayoos man dole par ye gagan bole
phir bhi na dar agar bujhen diye
sahar to hai tere liye
hmm hmm hmm hmm
jab zindagi kisi tarah bahalti nahin
khaamoshiyon se bhari jab raat dhalti nahin
jab zindagi kisi tarah bahalti nahin
khaamoshiyon se bhari jab raat dhalti nahin
tab muskuraaun main ye geet gaaun main
phir bhi na dar agar bujhen diye
sahar to hai tere liye

Peevsie’s mom–yes difficult to sing. It is instances like this that you can tell just how good Lata is. It is the first time I’ve seen this picturization–so thanks Atul. Jaya is just so lovely here. What happened to her?

Atul, in The Last Emperor, I gasped at the scene when the young and dazzling second wife, after been taken by the Japanese. , is shown as a crushed old hag. Well so I was thinking about Jaya in the same way.

hey atul
thank you very much for the lyrics of this song. this one is my absolute favourite for the way Salil Choudhary has made the meter of the song go up and down. try singing it its not easy. since childhood i ve felt i ve mastered this song and then i find a new up-down to it. u concentrate on the lyrics and u miss the beat!!! thats what has been happening with me
