“Niraalaa” (1950) was a movie in which two newcomers named Madhubala and Dev Anand played the lead roles. I am sure this movie was a box office success. The movie has been forgotten with time, but its songs are unforgettable.
The song, which became the most popular and remain so is the “get together” song where Madhubala is asked to sing a song in front of a gathering (which looks to me like a gathering for a wedding function).
This song is sung by Lata. The lyrics by P L Santoshi are just superb. C Ramchandra is the music director.

Such a mellifluous song, it makes the listener to float into a nostalgia from where you do not want to come back. Superb song.

We have been humming this beautiful song since our childhood. Have you noticed how simple words have been used with small orchestra. Lataji is superb as ever. Enchanting and encompassing music.

Yes, very true Prasad ji. Enchanting and enticing music and Lata ji with her young and fresh voice takes it to such unscalable heights one is left craving for more and more of such immortal melodies. How starved we are of such melodies now a days.

This timeless classic song is so enchanting, encompassing and captivating that it is beyond description. I often visit this site to watch and listen the young voice of Lataji.
