“Prem Geet” (1981) is a movie that was a launch vehicle for two new actors called Raj Babbar and Aneeta Raj. Raj was an actor with no filmy connection, but Aneeta Raj was the daughter of Jagdish Raj, the perenniel police officer of Hindi movies.
Like most movies serving as the launch vehicles of newcomers, this movie too was a love story (and a tragic love story to boot).
This movie had some lovely songs in it which was a refreshing change from the disco songs that had taken over Hindimovie music scene those days. The songs of “Prem Geet” were served as balm for the music lovers who were being bruised by the noise that was passing for music those days.

If I am not wrong, I have heard one version of “aao mil jaayein” sung by suresh wadkar and anuradha paudhwal, Vividhbharthi peopele, everytime they broadcast it, announce it as a song sung by anuradha paudhwal and suresh wadkar. Further the voices in the one posted in the blog also , sounds like anuradha and suresh wadkar.
