The 1965 movie Do Dil is a standard fare lost-and-found prince heir to the kingdom throne, palace intrigues, and struggles to get control of the kingdom. It was a time in the Hindi movies that on just seeing the name Pran in the credits of a movie, one could predict the main plot of the movie in a jiffy. Almost a similar situation in this movie. The heir to a certain kingdom goes missing as a child, and is presumed dead. Pran, a relative of some sort to the main lineage, is the most eligible person to succeed and ascend the throne. Then out of the blue, Biswajeet appears, and claims to be the long lost child and the actual heir to the throne. The storyline beyond that moves on a very predictable course.
This movie has some pretty good songs. The music compositions are prepared by Hemant Kumar, and the songs have a semi classical touch. Remember the songs like “Saara Mora Kajra Chhudaayaa Tu Ne”, “Mann Mora Naache Tan Mora Naache”, and “Tera Husn Rahe Mera Ishq Rahe, Ye Subha Ye Shaam Rahe Na Rahe” etc.
This song is that interlude in the movie when Biswajeet sees Rajshree, for the first time. He is apparently out on a walking tour of his realm, and hears a lovely voice. Following it, he discovers a lovely maiden singing a song of the hirni (deer). He is mesmerized and follows her, listening to the sweet song.
The wonderful lyrics of this song are by Kaifi Azmi, and it is beautifully sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Enjoy this lovely song of the jungle animals and hills.

I didn’t realise this song had not been posted so far. I remember it from my very young days. I like this song a lot. It is indeed a very sweet song, written by Kaifi Azmi saab.
