Dhadakne lagi dil ke taaron ki duniyaa

I was under the impression that I had already discussed this song. But as is often the case, I realised that my impression was wrong when the lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.
The lyrics of this song (by Sahir Ludhianvi) make it an incredibly sensuous song and the song is picturised as such.
The song is sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Asha Bhonsle. The song is picturised on Rajendra Kumar and Mala Sinha. N Datta is the music director.
Those who have watched the movie will know that the song leads to what I call “roop tera mastaana” situation and all, after which the hero ditches the girl and the girl is left holding the resultant baby. I know, I know that it is a movie and that this song is picturised more than half a century ago, but still I cannot “forgive” Rajendra Kumar for ditching Mala Sinha. 🙂 Yes, I am too sensitive, it would seem. 😀

Ha ha…”roop tera mastana” situation indeed. 🙂 Love your write-ups.
I liked this movie – it has the BR Chopra “showing a mirror to society” stamp on it, though this was only produced by him and directed by his brother. In fact, BR Chopra is one of my all-time favourite director/producers for his meaningful movies like Ek Hi Bhool, Sadhna, Kanoon, Dhool Ka Phool and Dharamputra.
