“Howrah Bridge” (1958) was a landmark movie in the annals of Hindi movie club songs. This movie had not one but two club songs that went on to become immortal clu songs. One was of course the Helen song Mera naam Chin Chin Choo and the other was the Madhubala song Aayiye meharbaan (Howrah Bridge) .
Here is another club song from this movie. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. This song is picturised on Madhubala. Rafi sings for a couple of male actors. I request pur knowledgeable readers to help identify them.
Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyrics. Music is composed by O P Nayyar.

Lyrics
dekh ke teri nazar
beqaraar ho gaye
ae jee huzoor thahariye
ham shikaar ho gaye
dekh ke teri nazar
beqaraar ho gaye
ae jee huzoor thahariye
ham shikaar ho gaye
aao jee dance kar len,
thodaa romance kar len
pehlaa nazaaraa huaa,
ek ishaaraa huaa
kisse hazaar ho gaye
dekh ke teri nazar
beqaraar ho gaye
ae jee huzoor thahariye
ham shikaar ho gaye
mukh pe paseenaa halkaa,
goraa ye roop haay
hamne to aaj dekhi,
barkhaa mein dhoop haay
mukh pe paseenaa halkaa,
goraa ye roop haay
hamne to aaj dekhi,
barkhaa mein dhoop haay
dekho ye ladke saare
bechaare dil ke maare
tum pe nisaar ho gaye
dekh ke teri nazar,
o ho ho ho ho
beqaraar ho gaye
haay haay
ae jee huzoor thahariye
o ho ho ho ho ho
ham shikaar ho gaye
ek sawaal dear
poochhoon janaab se
laaye ho aankhen kahin
dho ke sharaab se
ek sawaal dear
poochhoon janaab se
laaye ho aankhen kahin
dho ke sharaab se
aankhen teri mastaani
ham to re dilbar jaani
doob ke paar ho gaye
dekh ke teri nazar
beqaraar ho gaye
ae jee huzoor thahariye
ham shikaar ho gaye

Fat person singing the song in Rafi’s voice is PAACHHI, who was Producer and Director of the film AROUND THE WORLD (1967),and he is brother of comedian actor OMPRAKASH.

What a beautiful lady. And so graceful too. A lovely soothing number, only Asha or Geeta Dutt could have done justice to this song :).
