Ye shokh sitaare

“Ek Thi Ladki” (1949) is a movie starring Motilal and Meena Shorey. This movie is famous for the iconic song Laara lappa laara lappa laai rakhdaa(Ek Thi Ladki). I have discussed as many as four songs from this movie, and all these songs are just outstanding.
This movie had another fun song in it called Dilli se aaya bhai Tingu .
This movie had a few romantic duets as well, which were sung by Rafi and Lata. I have already discussed one of them (Ab haale dil yaa haale jigar kuchh naa poochhiye (Ek Thi Ladki) ).
Here is the other Rafi-Lata duet from this movie. It is a lovely romantic song which is picturised on Motilal and Meena Shorey. Aziz Kashmiri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Vinod.
What a movie, and what wonderful songs this movie has !

What a delightful hidden gem! The chemistry between Motilal and Meena is better than raj-nargis or dilip kumar -madhubala. Beautiful!

Moti lal lip synching Rafi’s voice ! This is unique in itself. A novel song in all aspects.
