8th september is Asha Bhonsle’s birthday. On this occasion, I have discussed a couple of rare and special songs sung by Asha Bhonsle. Here is another fantastic song sung by her.
I regard this song as a very special song indeed. This song is from “Faulaad” (1963). This song is picturised on two dancers, both called Mumtaz. One of them is Minu Mumtaz, who was already a well known dancer, and another is Mumtaz (the one who became a hot property in Hindi movies by late 1960s).
In this song, Minu Mumtaz is ready to dance with other dancers and she persuades Mumtaz to join as well. After initial reluctance (lasting a few milliseconds), Mumtaz joins in the dance and begins dancing with abandon.
The song and its music is as racy and as lilting as any song could be. Asha Bhonsle is the singer and the two ladies take turns lip syncing in Asha Bhonsle’s voice. Anjaan is the lyricist. Music is composed by G S Kohli. A long time assistant music director under O P Nayyar, G S Kohli gave his best every time he got an opportunity as an independent music director. And this song is a great testimony to his calibre.
So here is this special song on the occasion of Asha Bhnsle’s 77th birthday. We wish her many happy returns of the day.

I use to listen this song during my school days on vividbharthi !!!
Mimu mumtaz happen to be daughter of mumtaz ali,great dance director and also sister of mehmood

I use to listen this song during my school days on vividbharthi and continued to search it on the net ever-after.lost on the mukhra as well,was able to locate on utube sometime in aug-2011.
