“Khel” (1950) is an obscure movie by now. This movie was a Shaheen Pictures production and it was directed by S M Nawab. The movie had Dev Anand,Nigar Sultana, Nargis, Hafiz Jehan, , Anwar, Neelam , Murad etc as far as one can tell.
The prints of the movie are no longer available. And the songs of this movie are just as difficult to find. Songs of this movie are collectors’ items, because they are composed by Sajjad Hussain. We in this blog have discussed as many as four songs from this movie.
This movie had as many as nine songs in it and I would dearly love to discuss the remaing songs from this movie. For that matter I would deraly lovely to discuss all the Sajjad Hussain songs missing from this blog, if only they were available.
That is where we are so thankful to readers like Mr Khwaja Sultan Ahmad. He is the younger brother of the legendary music director of 1940s, namely Khwaja Khurshid Anwar. He has rare and obscure songs with him as well as insider information about movies and songs that are not available elsewhere. He has promised to upload rare songs of Sajjad Hussain. He has already uploaded a few such songs.
Here is a song from “Khel” (1950) that has been uploaded by Mr Khwaja Sultan Ahmad. This song is sung by Shamshad Begam. Zia Sarhadi is the lyricist.
Only the audio of this song is available, so one can only guess about the picturisation. And I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the picturisation of this song.

As usual, Sajjad Hussain excels in complex compositions. This one is one of them which even seasoned playback singers may find it dificult to render. Shamshad Begum has rendered this song beautifully.
