Guzre hain aaj ishq mein

“Dil Diya Dard Liya” (1966) is one of the first “old” movies that I became aware of as a pre teen kid, and my impression about old movies being melancholic stuff was mainly based on this movie, its songs and also its title.
This movie has several songs that I now regard as timeless classics but those days I regarded as boring songs.
I have discussed two songs from this movie in the past. Here is another song from this movie. It is sung by Rafi and it is picturised on Dilip Kumar and Waheeda Rehman. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.

Are Rafi Sahab ne gaaya hai, Nushad Sahab ne sangeet diya hai, Dilip Sahab ki adakaari hai aur Shakeel Sahab ka likhha huaa hai. Meri naapasand honeki to goonjaish ho hi naheen sakati. Dhanyawaad Prakashji and Atulji.

Rafi’s voice, Naushad’s music and Shakeel Badayuni’s lyrics…it’s like a triveni sangam.
Three brothers of Muslim faith has created a bhajan like…o’ duniya ke rakhavale… that made the category of it’s own. Nobody can do what these three have achieved,
