I have mentioned in the past that most movie songs that we get to listen to are from movies that were released. But there are cases when a movie fails to get released but a few of its songs get released and some of them even become popular.
Then there are some cases when the movie as well as the songs remain unreleased for decades, before someone decided to release the audio of the songs from the still unreleased movie.
“Chand Grahan” was a movie that was made sometime in 1970s but it never got released. It was only in 1997 that the audio of this movie were finally released. By that time the singer (Mukesh) as well a the music director (Jaidev) were no longer around.
On the occasion of Jaidev’s death anniversary (6 january), here is this rare song from an unreleased movie. This song has the distinction of being the last released song of Mukesh as well as Jaidev.

Thanks for this wonderful song. Incidentally, I heard this song on Radio Ceylon a couple days ago and that is when I searched for it on your blog.

Who is the female singer joining Mukesh at the very fag end of the song?
Again, the mysterious “Noor Jahan” from Do Bhoond Paani I suppose.
