Tere paas aake mera waqt guzar jaata hai

When I saw the lyrics of this song sent to me by nahm, I thought that she had sent this lyrics by mistake. How can this song be not yet posted ? But when I checked up, I found that not only this song, but in fact none of the songs of this movie, namely “Neela Aakash” (1965) have figured in the blog so far. So that makes this song a “How come this song is ot yet posted !” category of song.
This song is a Rafi Asha Bhonsle duet from “Neela Aakash”(1965). This delightful song is picturised on Dharmendra and Mala Sinha.
Raja Mehdi Ali Khan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Madan Mohan. Just how many great compositions did Madan Mohan compose ? It is already the 241 st Madan Mohan composition in the blog. In this song, Madan Mohan demonstrartes that he could create magic not only with Lata, but also with Asha Bhonsle. In fact, it is interesting to realise that the most popular song composed by Madan Mohan in his lifetime was with Asha Bhonsle and that was the song Jhumka gira re Bareli ke bazaar mein from “Mera Saaya”(1966).
Here is this lovely song from “Neela Aakash” (1965). I need to discuss other songs from this movie as well.

Lyrics(Provided by nahm)
tere paas aa ke
mera waqt guzar jaata hai
tere paas aa ke
mera waqt guzar jaata hai
do ghadi ke liye
gham jaane kidhar jaata hai
jab kabhi door se tu mujh ko nazar aata hai
pyaar hans kar meri aankhon mein sanwar jaata hai
tere paas aa ke mera
waqt guzar jaata hai
tu wohi hai jise
iss dil ne sadaayen di hain
tu wohi hai jise
iss dil ne sadaayen di hain
tu wohi hai jise
nazron ne duaayen di hain
tu wohi hai ke jo
dil le ke mukar jaata hai
do ghadi ke liye
gham jaane kidhar jaata hai
tere paas aa ke mera
waqt guzar jaata hai
jaam itne teri masti bhari aankhon se piye
aaaa
jaam itne teri masti bhari aankhon se piye
bekhudi mein tujhe sajde meri nazron ne kiye
tere jalwon mein khudaa
mujhko nazar aata hai
pyaar hans kar meri
aankhon mein sanwar jaata hai
tere paas aa ke mera
waqt guzar jaata hai
teri yaadon se main
ghabraa ke chali aati hoon
teri yaadon se main
ghabraa ke chali aati hoon
main har ek qaid ko
thukraa ke chali aati hoon
main nahin aati
mujhe pyaar idhar laata hai
pyaar hans kar meri
aankhon mein sanwar jaata hai
do ghadi ke liye gham jaane kidhar jaata hai
tere paas aa ke
mera waqt guzar jaata hai

To continue on nahm’s comment, a non-Rafi album came out during this period under Naushad’s baton… imagine Naushad not using Rafi….. all classic Lata superhit songs….. Film; Saathi.
Thank you Atul for such a lovely song….
“Do ghadi ke liye gham jaane kidhar jaata hai”… indeed!

There is one beautiful gazal type Lata solo from NEELA AKAASH:
“Na aasmaaan na sitaare fareb dethe hain..hamein tho apne sahaare fareb dethe hain”
(Which is I think not included in the movie)(The lyrics are with you Atulji)If at all you want the lyrics again, I am sending those lyrics again today.

The song seems to have been filmed in the famous Pinjore Gardens just outside of Chandigarh, towards Kalka. The lyrics are so simple and beautiful. Main nahi aati mujhe pyar idhar lata hai.

The reason for Asha Bhosle singing this and another duet in the film “Neela Aakash” could be more due to the rift between Rafi and Lata, when they were not singing together. It happened with the duet in “Guide”, and two duets in “Jahaan Ara”. There are many examples of Asha-Rafi duets in this period and even Rafi-Suman duets.
