Aankhon mein teri yaad liye jaa raha hoon main

Posted on: June 13, 2012

“Hamaari Yaad Aayegi” (1961) was a Show People Production. It was produced and directed by Kidar Sharma to launch his son Ashok Sharma. The movie had Ashok Sharma, Tanuja, Anant Kumar, Sujata, Vijay, Madhvi, Dubey etc in it.

The movie failed to launch the career of Ashok Sharma.

The movie is today remembered for its songs, especially the wonderful title song. Two songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is another song from the movie. This song is sung by Mukesh. KIdar Sharma is the lyricist and music is composed by Snehal Bhatkar.

The song is picturised on Ashok Sharma.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

Song-Aankhon mein teri yaad liye jaa rahaa hoon main (Hamari Yaad Aayegi)(1961) Singer-Mukesh, Lyrics-Kidar Sharma, MD-Snehal Bhatkar

Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)

aankhon mein teri yaad
liye jaa raha hoon main
dil se tumhe duaayen
diye jaa raha hu main
aankhon mein teri yaad
liye jaa raha hoon main

jo meri zindagi thhe
meri jaan de gaye
meri jaan de gaye
phir kiss khushi mein
aur jiye jah raha hoon main
aankhon mein teri yaad
liye jaa raha hoon main

ae maut haath thhaam le
mujh badnaseeb ka
mujh badnaseeb ka
kab se tujhe aawaaz
diye jaa raha hoon main
aankhon mein teri yaad
liye jaa raha hoon main

It is a good idea of marking films of which all the songs have figured in the blog as red. It is observed that completed films(102) in 30’s is 1; 40’s is 6; 50’s> 31; 60’s>46 and 70’s> 17
From the above it means we have 50% more completed films in the 60’s as compared to the 50’s. The conclusion drawn from the above is that we are veering away from our professed objective of offering more older songs than newer ones. This should be a signal to all our contributors to concentrate on 50’s rather than 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. It is observed of late more songs of 70’s and 80’s are being logged in. In fact I would go as far as stating to concentrate more on 50’s and 60’s only(and shun 70’s & 80’s)till such time we are able to wipe out the huge deficit of these 2 decades which is considered as the golden era of our musical odessey.
Further instead of bracketed numbers indicating number of songs logged (which we can count ourselves anyway)against each film it will be better if the total number of songs are also indicated after the oblique eg 5/8 which will indicate that out of total 8 songs only 5 are logged in and still 3 more to go.

I do not have the figures for number of songs in movies. That data will have to be supplied by someone with Geetkosh. Then I can provide figures like 5/8 or so against each movie.

Songs from various decades are getting added up with time. Concentrating on only one decade may become monotonous, so the mix of songs from all decades is alright.
