Saanp se badhke mera zehar hai

I think and hope that this is the last song from Zehreela Insaan (1974) to be published here and thus it would put the name of the film in red colour in the list. This is the title song of the movie explaining why the main protagonist of the film is called zehreela insaan (poisonous man).
PS-Thanks to Prakashchandra, now we know that there is one more song in this movie that is left to be covered.
As I told the last time, I must have been 9 or 10 years old, when I saw the film on DD. When I heard the name of film on that particular Sunday evening, I was very much excited at the prospect of seeing a horror film, which was completely forbidden for us children. I was imagining a creature with big fangs. Something like a vampire, only that I didn’t know the term at that time, biting its way to glory!
Prakashchandra kindly informed me that this song and ye silsila pyaar se chala and Mere dil se ye nain were filmed in the Chitradurga district of Karnataka. It is a place near Bangalore. This rocky place compliments the song quite well describing the hard front he puts in front of the people.
A pleasant song to listen to, it is not, it is more of a declamation than a song. But all the same interesting meter!
Song-Saanp se badh ke mera zeher hai (Zehreela Insaan)(1974) Singer-Shailendra Singh, Lyrics-Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD-R D Burman
Lyrics
saanp se badhke mera zehar hai
main hoon ghazab ka zehreela insaan
uskaa zeher to duniyaa utaare
meraa zeher se bachaaye bhagwaan
saanp se badhke mera zehar hai
main hoon ghazab ka zehreela insaan
uskaa zeher to duniyaa utaare
meraa zeher se bachaaye bhagwaan
saanp se badhke mera zehar hai
main hoon ghazab ka zehreela insaan
duniya ke sitam se
patthar ke saanche mein mujhe dhaalaa
toofanon ne mujhe paala
bas pyaar jhukaa saktaa mujhko
ya woh uparwaalaa
main donon hi kaa matwaalaa
mujhe pyaar ke badle mein
nafrat se agar chhedaa
uthh jaayega phir toofaan
haa haa
saanp se badhke mera zehar hai
main hoon gazab ka zehreela insaan
uskaa zeher to duniyaa utaare
meraa zeher se bachaaye bhagwaan
main raam hoon aise anyaayi
sansaar ke aangan mein
yeh bheja hai mujhe van mein
jo aag lagi thhi lankaa mein
sulghe hai mere tan mein
aur bhadke hai mere man mein
sang jeena gar mujhko
pachtayegi yeh duniya
kar ke mera apmaan
haa haa
saanp se badhke mera zehar hai
main hoon ghazab ka zehreela insaan
uskaa zeher to duniyaa utaare
meraa zeher se bachaaye bhagwaan
saanp se badhke mera zehar hai
main hoon ghazab ka zehreela insaan

I think, the Music director of the originqal movie is the great kannada music director Vijaya Bhaskar
I remember whenever we three kid brothers are at war with each other, we used to warn each other by this song(saying that a Naag(that`s I think Cobra)`s enemity is for 12 years, but beware of my enemity, its for 100 years. Those were the days.

What a co-incidence !, 🙂
We are also three brothers- no sister, only the difference is I am the 2nd one. and the difference between each one is 2 years. That too whichever weekday my birthday falls, my younger brother`s birthday fall on same weekday(i.e., if my birthday falls on monday, then his birthday will also be on monday.) Me and My younger brother share same Nakshatra->”Moola”(I don`t know what you call that in English)
Again the difference is -He is the successful one(owns his own business firm and more intelligent and practical- I am very very much happy for him)
Thanks for sharing.
Regards
Prakash

I feel that the original kannada song rendition by SP Balasubramaniam has more punch and is more expressive than this.

All other songs posted from this movie, must have been Pancham`s own creation, except this one is a tune originally used in Kannada original movie “Naagarahaabu”

I didn’t know that Vishnuvardhan passed away. He was a big hero on the Kannada screen wasn’t he? Next only to Raaj Kumar, I would say.
The tune is 1 to 1 pick up from the original.
