“Ramkasam” (1978) was a Narang Films combines production. It was produced by S D Narang and directed by Chaand. The movie had Sunil Dutt, Rekha, Bindiya Goswami, Amjad Khan, Nirupa Roy, Bindu, Ajit, Dev Kumar, M Raajan, Sudhir, D.K.Sapru, Jankidass, Jagdish Raj, C.S.Dubey, Jeevan, Suhel, Jairaj, Hercules, Lalita Kumari etc on it.
Today (9 july 2013) is the death anniversary of Manoharlal Sonik, better known as Sonik of the Sonik Omi duo of music directors. Manoharlal Sonik and Om Prakash Sonik were uncle and nephew respectively. Manoharlal Sonik was visually handicapped and still he achieved a lot in music direction with his nephew.
On this occasion, here is a song from “Ramkasam” (1978). This song is sung by Lata and Rafi. It is picturised as a mela song on Rekha and Sunil Dutt, with several baddies watching the proceedings in disguise.
Verma Malik is the lyricist and music is composed by Sonik Omi.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra who describes this song as a rare song. Personally I recall listening to this song a lot during its time.
