“Miss Mary” (1957) was an AVM Production movie. It was produced by A M Veiyappan and directed by L V Prasad. The movie had Meena Kumari, Kishore Kumar, Gemini Ganeshan, Jamuna, Achla Sachdev, Jagdish Sethi, Randhir, Om Prakash, Karunanidhi, Maruti, Shivraj, Kesari, Meenakshi etc in it.
This nice heartwarming movie was a musical extravaganza in addition to being an entertaining movie. Five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from the movie. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Jamuna sings and dance infront of of Meena Kumari and Gemini Ganeshan (posing as married couple in order to land the job of teachers in a school run by Jamuna’s parents).
I had gone out and bought a VCD of “Miss Mary”(1957) when I first became aware of this movie nearly five years ago thanks to its review in Memsaab’s blog. I enjoyed watching the movie.
It turns out that the VCD manufactureres had deleted a few songs from the movie. This song under discussion, for instance was one such song. So I am watching this song from “Miss Mary” (1956) for the first time only now.
