There is a category of songs on the blog “INTRODUCTION SONGS” i.e. songs where the character tells the audience who he is or is sort of, giving a ‘visiting card’. The following are my favourites in the category.

There are some more songs in this list which have been popular with lovers of film songs in modern times like ‘My name is Sheila’ (2010), ‘hum hain seedhe saadhe Akshay’ (1996) etc.
The song today is also a ‘Visiting Card’ song, it also doubles as a ‘Question Answer’ song. It is in the voices of Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle. It is written by Lalji Pandey who was famous as Anjaan among lovers of film music. Bappi Lahiri was the music director of the songs in this film which had five songs. We are revisiting “Naukar Biwi Ka”.
“Naukar Biwi Ka” was directed by Rajkumar Kohli & produced by Nishi Kohli. Dharmendra, Anita Raaj, Kadar Khan, Om Prakash, Rajiv Anand (who was seen only Rajkumar Kohli films, I think), Pran, Agha were in the cast, with a few well known actors of that time making special & guest appearances. Prominent in the list of guest & special appearances actors were Reena Roy, Raj Babbar, Rishi Kapoor, Sushma Seth, Madan Puri, Jagdish Raj, Danny, Vinod Mehra.
The film was the story of Dharmendra who comes to the city with the ambition of becoming a film actor, gets married to Anita Raaj with blessings from the grandfather (Om Prakash). There is resistance from Anita Raaj as she is in love with Rajiv Anand who is a puppet of Kadar Khan, who has his eye on Om Prakash’s wealth. Pran played the loyal driver of Om Prakash. Reena Roy played an actress in the film that Dharmendra lands a role in & Rishi Kapoor played Reena Roy’s hero in that film; meaning there is a Film inside a Film.
It is common knowledge among followers of Hindi films that Raj Kapoor’s sons were called Randhir, Rishi & Rajiv Kapoor who had pet names of Dabboo, Chintu & Chimpu. These names have been incorporated into the lyrics of today’s song. Similarly, we know that there were heroines in Hindi film Meena (Kumari), Bina (Rai), Tina (Munim); we find these names also in the song.
One song from ‘Naukar Biwi Ka’ is on the blog. It was posted on the occasion of the 81st birthday of Dharam Paaji, (almost 10 years back). Today is the 6th remembrance anniversary of Chintu Kapoor and we are having another song from the film.
Chintu was born as Rishi Kapoor to Ranbir Raj Kapoor (Raj Kapoor) & Krishna Malhotra. His maternal uncles were Premnath, Rajendranath, Narendranath, & Prem Chopra; and Shammi Kapoor & Shashi Kapoor were his paternal uncles. Chintu’s grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor was also an actor as also his son Ranbir. He was married to actress Neetu Singh. A whole family engaged in the business of entertaining the world. Chintu debuted as director with ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ in 1999, a film which was one of the last from the RK Film studio.
Rishi Kapoor (Chintu) had acted with many actresses in his long career and was in launchpad films of 16 heroines starting with Dimple Kapadia in ‘Bobby’. He had acted in many multi-hero films and made successful pairings with Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan, Jeetendra (I’m sure I missing a few names). Similarly, we have heard him sing in the voices of Shailendra Singh, Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi, and Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, (from the later set). I would love to know if Manna Dey, Mahendra Kapoor or Mukesh have ever sung for him!!
Remembering Rishi Kapoor on his anniversary with this dance song and he has said in his biography “Khullam Khulla” that he did not count himself as a dancer but just followed the choreographer ‘s instructions
