“Anarbala” (1961) was directed by Raja Yagnik for Unity Productions. This B grade movie had Daljeet, Krishna Kumari, Maruti, Nilopher, Jeevankala, Tiwari etc in it.
According to my hypothesis, B grade movies tend to have A grade music in them. Here is a song from “Anarbala” (1961) which fulfils my hypothesis. This song is sung by Subir Sen and Suman Kalyanpur. Ramesh Chandra Pandey is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bulo C Rani.
Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to say how and on whom this song is picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
I have a feeling that this could well be one of those songs that are better heard than seen, because the picturisation of such songs often tend to be a big letdown. Going by the audio, this song gives the impression of being a quintessential Chhaayaageet song, which is best heard late at night in silence with everyone asleep (barring the barks of occasional dogs, may be. 🙂 )
