“Jaggu”(1952) was produced and directed by Jagdish Sethi. The movie had Kamal Kapoor, Shyama, Kuldip Kaur, Nanda, Jagdish Sethi, Tiwari etc in it.
Two songs from “Jaggu” (1952) have been discussed in the past. Here is the third song from this movie. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Naqsh Llayalpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hansraj Bahl.
This song was the debut song for Naqsh Llayalpuri as a lyricist in Hindi movies.
This song was once played in Vividh Bharati and there the announcer made a serious faux pas in describing this song as written by Bharat Vyas and sung by Madhubala Jhaveri, and a music lover duly uploaded the audio of this song on YT with incorrect attribution.
We in this blog of course check our facts carefully instead of copying them blindly from elsewhere. This movie had seven songs and Madhubala Jhaweri was the main singer in the movie and she had sung five solo songs in it. The movie had another two female solos. One was sung by Lata and another (this one) by Asha Bhonsle. This must be one of the rare instances where all songs in a movie were female solo songs.
