“Suhaag”(1979) was directed by Manmohan Desai for Sharma Cine Associates Private Limited. The movie had Amitabh Bachchan,Rekha,Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Babi, Nirupa Roy,Amjad Khan, Ranjeet, Kader Khan, Jeevan, Jagadish Raj, Hercules, Krishan Dhawan, M.Rajan, Nishan Singh, Daljit Rao, Azad, Komilla Virk, Ghulam Hussain, Brahm Bhardwaj, Chanda, Vatsala Deshmukh, Raj Rani, Master Tito, Master Ratan, Moolchand etc in it.
Today (20 january 2014) is the ninth death anniversary of Parveen Babi (4 april 1949- 20 january 2005). She was only 55 years old when she died. It was not the age for her to die. She was easily one of the bigger heart throbs of Hindi movies for much of 1970s and it is unfortunate that she suffered from psychological disorders later on which made her a paranoid and reclusive individual, a far cry from her prime when she ruled over Hindi movies with her classy and sophisticated looks.
As a tribute to her, here is a song from “Suhaag” (1979). This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle with a few words uttered by Shashi Kapoor. The song is picturised on Parveen Babi (playing a drunk female caught by police inspector Shashi Kapoor in a raid) and Shashi Kapoor finds that it has become his responsibility to take her to her home. Parveen Babi makes passes on him in her drunkard state and comes on hard at him, much to the embarrasment of Shashi Kapoor and much to the glee of the movie watchers, who can only fantasize of such a thing happening to them. 🙂 This song helps movie goers live their fantasy through Shashi Kapoor.

thank you very much for posting my favourite song From “Suhaag”
this was a song in which i simply loved Parveen Babi. o how beautiful she is here and what great hair. actually i used to be a fan of her style too
