“Chatpatee” (1982) was produced by Deven Verma and directed by V Ravindra for Navratna Films. The movie had Smita Patil, Raj Kiran, Dr.Shree Ram lagoo, Reema Lagoo, Sudhir Dalvi, Seema Deo, Col.Raj Bharati etc in it.
Today (5 february 2014) is the birth anniversary of Raj Kiran. On this occasion, here is a duet song from the movie. This song is sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata. it is picturised as a wedding night song on Raj Kiran and Smita Patil.
Yogesh is the lyricist. Music is composed by Basu Manohari.

Happy Birthday to Raj Kiran. He was a fabulous actor. Perhaps because of his drug problem, he was not able to get work. But he was really natural.
Love his appearances in movies.

There is one confusion about this song.This song was also included in the soundtracks of an unreleased movie YASMEEN(1974)Director:Raja Bedi starring jyothika rao, Pavan Dutt (music director and the lyricist`s names are same basu manohari and yogesh in both movies).HELP

Even I heard that somewhere and found songs of that movie. Moreover at the beginning of this century I had seen this song attributed to R. D. Burman, but I can’t remember the name of the film. The songs surely does have early 70s vibes rather than early 80s.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that it is true that R. D. Burman composed it. I think, since the movie Yasmeen got shelved they just used it for Chatpatee.

He was holed up in some US Hospital in a vegetative state for years on end . Another sad story; could not digest his success. Booze and what have you!!!
