“Man Ki Aankhen” (1970) was produced by I A Nadiadwala and directed by Raghunath Jhalani. The movie had Dharmendra, Waheeda Rehman, Fariyal, Sujit Kumar, Manmohan Krishna, Leela Chitnis, Mohan Sherry, Brahm Bhardwaj, Lailta Pawar etc in it.
Four song from this movie were discussed in 2009. Then the fifth song from this movie was discussed in july 2014 after a lull of five years, viz half a decade !
Here is the sixth song from this movie, two months after the fifth song from the movie was discussed by Raja during the blog’s 10,000th song celebrations.
This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and chorus and it is picturised as a devotional song on Waheeda Rehman and others who sing and dance seeking the blessings of the Goddess to bless them with a suitable “var”. vardaan literally means gift (daan) of “var” (groom). 🙂 It is another matter that the word “Vardaan” is nowadays used to mean blessing.
Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
