“Khilaadi” (1950) was produced and directed by R C Talwar. The movie had Suraiyya, Ashok Kumar, Kumar, Sundar, Indu, Anoop Kumar, Narmada Shankar, Cuckkoo etc in it.
There were eleven songs in the movie. Six songs in the movie had the voice of Suraiyya (including five solos and one duet). The movie had two other female solos, one each by Lata and Shamshad Begam. There two songs are not yet covered in the blog.
Seven songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the eighth song from the movie. This song is the only Lata song from the movie.is composed
Nakshab is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hansraj Bahl.
Only the audio of this song is avilable. Looking at the cast of the movie, I can only find the name of Indu and Cuckkoo as the likely artists who could have lip synced this song in the movie. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
The other female solo (sung by Shamshad Begam) is also available and I will discuss that soon. That leaves two other songs from the movie, viz. “ye teekhe teekhe nainon waale…inko raam sambhaale” and “ye kaali kaali zulfon waale”. These two songs do not seem to be available on YT or elsewhere. I request our knowledgeable readers to tell us about these two missing songs, (both of them penned by D N Madhok) that appear to be two parts of the same multiple version song, going by their lyrics.
