Genius of Jaidev – 39

It took me A YEAR to present this post today, after the last post ‘Genius of Jaidev – 38’, which appeared on this Blog on December 19th, 2015. After posting two songs by Mangeshkars from 1969 film ‘Sapna’, I have now a solo by Manna Dey. Not having seen the film my guess is that this song must have been picturised on the hero of the film, trying to move away from whatever situation he found himself, in a very dejected state.
This film ‘Sapna’, directed by R Kaushik, for Lalmani films, has yet to be posted three more songs. A Lakshmi Shankar song ‘Anaadi Mora Balma’ and ‘Mujh Se Mat Ruthho’ sung by Rafi and also by Krishna Kalle separately, as two songs, according to HFGK.
Let us enjoy this, one of the very few Manna Dey songs, under the music direction of Jaidev.
