1948 film ‘ASHA’, was a social film, Produced by Jagdish Film Circuit, Banglore (now Bangaluru) and Directed by Meghani. Lyics of L Meghani were set to music by the great MD Khemchand Prakash. According to HFGK, the Star-cast included Shanta Kunwar, Sohan, Samson, Shivraj, Tiwari, Urvashi, Laxman Rao, Sreemati Pal, Master Sharad etc.
This will be the fourth song being covered from this musical film on this wonderful musical Blog. MD Khemchand Prakash did not leg behind in capturing the wonder young voice of teen-ager Lata. She sang 13 solos and one duet for him in three films viz Asha, Ziddi and Mahal.
It is a simple worded ‘birhan’ song with simple music. The most striking feature is the young but SWEET voice of Lata. Such songs make me utter “Gaane jo sweet the sweet hi rahenge”.
