“Anand Math” (1952) was a Filmistan Production. It was directed by Hemen Gupta. This movie had Prithviraj Kapoor, Geeta Bali, Ajit, Pradip Kumar, Bharat Bhushan, S. L. Puri, Jankidas, Ranjana, Murad etc in it.
The movie had nine songs in it according to HFGK. Details of records of seven songs are known. Remaining two songs were there only in the movie version and their records were not made.
As many as eight songs from the movie have been discussed in the past.
Here is the ninth and final song from “Anand Math”(1952) in the movie. This is one of the two songs whose records were not made and it is there only in the video of the movie.
According to HFGK, this song is sung by Hemant Kumar, Geeta Dutt and chorus. But listening to the song, one notices that this song is sung only by Hemant Kumar. So the entry in HFGK is required to be corrected.
HFGK mentions that lyrics of this song are taken from Sanskrit poetry treatise “Geet Govind”, which was written by great Sanskrit scholar mahakavi Jaidev around 900 years ago (circa 1200 AD).
I am unable to identify the actors visible in the picturisation except Pradeep Kumar. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify them.
[Note: The two horsemen are Pradeep Kumar and Sudesh Kumar. On foot, it is Prithviraj Kapoor and Bharat Bhushan.]
Music of this song is composed by Hemant Kumar.
I have not been able to get a few words right in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections in the lyrics, wherever applicable.
With this song, “Anand Math”(1952) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.
Translation notes by Sudhir.

Prithviraj and Bharat Bushan initially and then later maybe Ajit with Pradeep on the horses

Atul ji,
The horseman accompanying Pradeep Kumar is Sudesh Kumar. Earlier in the clip we see Prithviraj Kapoor, and Bharat Bhushan, who are captives of the king’s soldiers.
I have corrected the lyrics, added lyrics in Hindi and also added the translation.

Simply Divine. Essence of what flowed from the pen of our great poets and saints. Geet Govind and Vande Mataram are immortals and we bow down to them… Mahakavi Jaidev and Bankimchandra Chattopadhya will live for ever
