Aansoo bhari hain ye jeewan ki raahen

on:Here is another archtypical Mukesh-Raj Kapoor song. It is from “Parvarish” (1958).
This song is so well known that I thought I had already posted it. But then I realised that this song was missing from this blog, so here it is.
This song is sung by Mukesh and picturised on Raj Kapoor. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. But two other important pieces of the jigsaw have been replaced here. Mala Sinha ( and not Nargis) figures in this movie, and Dattaram ( instead of Shankar Jaikishan) is the music director.
And this song is as timeless as they come.

Song-Aansoo bhari hain ye jeewan ki raahen (Parwarish) (1958) Singer-Mukesh, Lyrics- Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Dattaram
Lyrics
hmm
aansoo bhari hain ye jeewan ki raahen
koyi unse kah de hamen bhool jaayen
aansoo bhari hain ye jeewan ki raahen
koyi unse kah de hamen bhool jaayen
aansoo bhari hain
waade bhulaa den qasam tod den wo
waade bhulaa den qasam tod den wo
haalat pe apni hamen chhod den wo
aise jahaan se kyun ham dil lagaayen
koyi unse kah de hamen bhool jaayen
aansoo bhari hain
barbaadiyon ki ajab daastaan hoon
barbaadiyon ki ajab daastaan hoon
shabnam bhi roye main wo aasmaan hoon
unhen ghar mubaarak hamen apni aanhen
koyi unse kah de hamen bhool jaayen
aansoo bhari hain ye jeewan ki raahen
koyi unse kah de hamen bhool jaayen
aansoo bhari hain

I love this song and was thinking about it just now, so I came here to check it out. Once upon a time, long, long back, I was working with some of my colleagues on a project and for two days, one of them kept singing this song and drove me crazy. I asked someone why he was singing this particular song and found out that his girlfriend had decided to accept her parents’ choice of a groom, hence his singing. Of course, later on, I heard that he too got married and had children, but I will always associate this song with his bearded face and gloomy expression!
