“Agreement”(1980) had an interesting story line- a story line that many young males would dream about. 🙂 Here is the review of this movie on IMDB:
Educated, traveled, intelligent, wealthy, and a businesswomen Mala Mathur would like to marry a man who can look after the household duties while she works. Her uncle, Mr. Mathur, ridicules this idea, and tells her that she will never find any husband in this manner. Mala advertises in the newspapers, and gets tons of responses. She decides on marrying a young man by the name of Shekar Sinha, who is poor, unemployed, and willing to commit himself to household duties. Before the marriage, Shekar is asked to sign an agreement, which he does. And thus begins the marriage, which is not really a marriage, but an employment contract, which is terminable after one year. The question is will Shekar be able to survive for one year – especially when he does not know how to cook meals for his wealthy “wife”.
Rekha played the businesswoman Mala Mathur whereas Shailendra Singh, known more as a singer played Shekhar. This movie was directed by Anil Ganguly for S J S Films. The movie also had Utpal Dutt (playing Mr Mathur), Asrani, Aruna Irani, Bindu, Sujit Kumar, Nandita Thakur, Viju Khote, Dinesh Hingoo etc in it.
The movie had four songs in it. Three of the songs have already been covered in the blog.
Here is the fourth and final song from “Agreement”(1980) to appear in the blog. This ong is sung by Shailendra Singh and chorus. Gulshan Bawra is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bappi Lahiri.
The song is picturised as a get together cum party song where Shailendra Singh sings this song, with almost the entire cast of the movie is also present.
