“Dahej”(1950) was produced and directed by V Shantaram for Rajkamal Kalamandir, Bombay. The movie had Karan dewan, Jayshree, Prithviraj, Lalita Pawar, Ulhas, K Date, Mumtaz Shanti, Lata rao etc in it.
This “social” movie on the evils of dowry with ten songs in it. Eight songs from the movie have been discussed in the past.
Here is the ninth song from “Dahej”(1950) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Jayshree and it is picturised on her as well, though the picturisation shows this song playing in the background while she is writing a leeter to her estranged husband played by Karan Dewan.
