“Mehndi”(1983) was produced by Dinesh Kumar and directed by Asit Sen (director). The movie had Vinod Mehra, Raj Babbar, Bindiya Goswami, Shakti Kapoor, Ranjeeta, Madan Puri, Usha Kiran , Birbal, Mohan Choti etc in it.
I have not seen this movie as this movie came about at a time which coincided with the beginning of my blackout period of Hindi movies.
It turns out that I had not even heard the songs of this movie. I stumbled against this song from “Mehndi”(1983) only just now, after the passage of some 33 years. What a nice song it is ! It is songs like this that kept the flag of quality flying in the midst of declining quality of HFM.
This song is sung by Kishore Kumar. Verma Malik is the lyricist. Music is composed by Khayyaam.
This song is picturised as a standard get together song where one person (Raj Babbar in this case) plays a grand piano in the presence of invitees that includes Ranjeeta and Vinod Mehra, among others.
What a nice song ! I have listened to this song quite a few times already and I cannot have enough of this song.
